Your client will tell you what she wants during the consultation. The existing level of depth that the mid-length and ends will serve as your reference for the new shade.
Depending on the existing level of depth, you can achieve four possibilities using Semi/Demi color:
1. Darker
2. Tone on tone
3. More vivid (more red)
4. Less vibrant (less red, more ashy/matt)
Clients can often be vague when it comes to determining the color change they want. Your professional knowledge and experience with hair analysis will help both of you to find the most suitable target color. By using the removable swatches from the GOLDWELL Color Tableau, your client can “try-on” their new hair color, helping to determine the final color choice.
Start by asking the client which of the four choices she would prefer. Then, depending on the base color and the desire of the client, take 4 to 5 swatches from the Color Tableau, fan them out to display and hold them close to the re-growth so the client can see them in the mirror.
While most semi-permanent colors have a durability of 4-6 shampoos, demi-permanent products can last up to 6 weeks. Durability varies and depends on hair’s porosity.
There are several Semi and Demi products on the market.
GOLDWELL pH balanced Colorance is ideal for color refreshing or toning without the need of a conventional treatment of re-growth.
Because of the lower or even missing lightening ability of semi/demi color, some color intensive shades may deviate slightly from the result shown on the Color Card.
For example 6R, if applied on a 6N base, will come out slightly less brilliant than on the Color Card. 6R on a very light base will come out very intensive.
